Josh Webb

Josh's path to coaching started on the world stage, not the gym floor. From 16 to 22 he was based at the Australian Institute of Sport competing in beach volleyball for Victoria and Australia, at national and international level. He then moved into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, representing Australia at the Pan Pacific Games and winning gold. From there it was physique modelling on the IBF circuit (five events), then endurance: representing Australia at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Vegas and the full distance Ironman World Championships in Kona. Three amateur boxing fights round out a competitive resume most people would call a career on its own.

Alongside competing, Josh spent 11 years working with elite performers off the field too, including Richmond Football Club and V8 Supercars, where he worked with high-performance motorsport athletes and race teams. He owned and ran his own gym for 18 years, managing a team of 26 trainers.

Josh is married and moved from Victoria to the Gold Coast in 2022, where he met Chris, a partnership that would go on to become the 1% Club. He's also a committed community leader on the Gold Coast, running regular free team training sessions and social events aimed at building stronger people both inside and outside the gym.

Today Josh brings that range into the tech side of 1% Club as a certified personal trainer and sports scientist, holding a Bachelor of Sports Science and further study in applied nutrition for sport. His coaching philosophy is built on what he's tested on himself across six different sports: performance isn't guesswork, it's data plus discipline.
